Share an experience about broken promise BOOK: Isaiah 7:14, 9:2-7; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-56 Old Testament Promise After Adam & Eve sinned, God told them a Savior would come & overcome Satan, God's enemy (Genesis 3:15). Later, when God called Abraham, He told Abraham every nation on Earth would b blessed through Abraham's decendants (see Genesis 12:2-3). Now, let's move on through history, past King David & into the years of the kings of Israel. In Isaiah 7:14, we see another promise God made. King Ahaz was terrified other enemy kings would take over his kingdom. In the middle of that scary time, God gave a message of hope to His prophet Isaiah. God promised a child would come who would b like no other baby ever born! & He would b called Immanuel, which means "God is w/ us"! Promises Coming True Over 400 years later, a couple, the man, Joseph, was going to marry a young woman named Mary in Nazareth, a town in Israel. She was completely surprised 1 day by a visit from angel Gabriel! The angel told her she was going to b the mother of a baby like no other baby ever born! When she heard the angel's words, Mary was stunned & afraid at 1st. But, she later said, "I'm the Lord's servant. Let it b done to me as u've said." Mary was willing to obey God, even though she'd no idea how this was going to change her life! When Joseph found out Mary was going to have a baby, he was very upset! So God sent an angel to gv him an important message (Matthew 1:21). This baby's birth would fulfill the promise God had made in Isaiah 7:14! But Joseph & Mary trusted the same God who had already fulfilled amazing promises in their lives would be able to take care of them. They were part of God's promised plan. But they weren't the only ones! Mary's cousin Elizabeth & her husband, Zechariah, were going to have a baby, too. This baby would grow up to tell people about God's son. After the angel's visit, Mary visited Elizabeth. When Elizabeth met her @ the door, God's Spirit filled Elizabeth w/ happiness, & Elizabeth knew Mary was going to be the mother of the promised Savior. Elizabeth said, "God has chosen u to be the mother of the Son of God!" Mary was so happy, she sang a song praising God for choosing her for such a special task. God was doing a wonderful thing & God hadn't forgotten His promise to Abraham - way bk in Genesis!	Presentation Slide
Look	Sometimes we're anxious to know what God's plan for us is, but even in the midst of our worry, we can remember God's promises r always good & He always keeps them. He truly is our "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Took	When we fail to fulfill our promise, what do we usually do? We make it up, cancel the promise, etc. But God not like us. Tuhan dari awal tdk berubah janji-Nya. Tidak ada make it up w/ u, like 'sori, gak bisa...' There's no bargain in God's promise. Dia pasti fulfil it. One of the promise God has given to us is eternal life. But, the promise has premise: Klao qta percaya sama Tuhan, Tuhan memberikan jaminan keselamatan. Klao qta meninggal, qta pasti akan menerima hdp kekal. Tdk seperti your friend / whoever yg break the promise, Tuhan selalu memenuhi janji-Nya. We can rest assured He'll fulfill it.
